CIVIC along with Mr. Narendra Kumar of Nagarika Shakti met Mr. Anjum Parvez, Principal Secretary, Urban Development on 16th January 2020.  He gave us the good news that Area Sabhas have been notified in Mangaluru Municipal Corporation as per the orders of the Karnataka High Court in the PIL filed by CIVIC, Nagarika Shakti and MCC Civic Group.  This is the first time that Area Sabhas have been notified in Karnataka though the law for their formation was passed in 2011.  He  has sent us the list of Areas announced for Mangaluru Municipal Corporation.  He  assured us that Area Sabhas and Ward Committees would be constituted in all municipal corporations.
