Case study on KMRP project:
Dear Sir here is the KMRP Project case study, am really happy to share this work with you firstly we have done a door to door survey in Nagawara ward of 3 areas in May 2012. After the survey we found some of the information of Nagawara Ward as well as the 3 Areas which we selected to work for this one year project. Then later after the survey we have started to consolidate the information which we collected in the survey after this process we identified some major problems in one of these areas that’s Bairappa layout, there is no community toilet as well as individual toilet to the community live there in that area so we considered this as a first major problem to be addressed so we started work on this issue, firstly we had a small group meeting with Area community and Resident Welfare Association and asked about their problems then they shared same that what we Identified in our survey so we had a discussion on that issue in the meeting and verified with concerned department regarding this issue then we got to know that there is a project called KMRP in BWSSB which is to provide sanitation and individual toilet connection to the urban poor in Bangalore city . We approached concerned BWSSB officials regarding this and taken officials to the area to visit and address the problem and after the officials visit they said that if the community able to provide place to build individual toilets they can provide the toilets form department so we had a meeting with community and made them aware of their rights and problems of practicing of open defecation for toilet then we wrote a letter to Chair man WBSSB regarding this and mentioned that provide individual toilets to the community under KMRP project as after a week of our letter submission Chair man of BWSSB has sanctioned the toilets under the KMRP project then we again visited the area and started to collect supportive documents to start work and by this week the actual work will be start.
This is how we addressed this problem.
Thanking you
