A press conference facilitated by CIVIC Bangalore was held in Mangaluru on 4th November by Narendra Kumar of Nagarika Shakthi and members of MCC Civic Group, just before the Mangaluru City Corporation elections on November 12th to demand that candidates should sign affidavits promising to set up Area Sabhas and conduct monthly ward committeee meetings, as per High Court Order(8th August).
